Chapter 3 : Caesar in Action

• Sam’s home is a cosy-looking two-storeyed house located on the edge of the town. The front door of the house opens directly into a modular kitchen through which you can even see the backyard. Sharing Sam’s back wall, there lies a pet facility, known to be owned by a big-name company, which is a shelter for lost and abandoned animals.

• 

  As soon as they reach Sam’s house, Sam puts Caesar down on the couch and finally takes a good look at the worn-out pup. He seems pretty young and firm, a bit underweight but otherwise a healthy pup. There is a small cut on Caesar’s left ear, the right eye is ice blue, and the left eye is mud brown. He seemed healthy enough to not need sedatives or other medications, so Sam puts him to sleep on the couch and goes to sleep.

• After what seems like hours have passed, Caesar opens his eyes and tip-toes up the stairs to Sam’s room. He peeks in and ensures that Sam is sleeping before slipping out into the backyard. He starts digging under the wall that separates the pet facility from Sam’s house. As he tunnels under the wall he is focused on only one thing and that is completing his mission.

  Soon after he is done saving the pup and seeing the horror that goes between the walls of the pet facility, supposed to be saving animals, Caesar, with a heavy heart and a promise to himself that he will save every animal in there; returns to Sam’s house through the tunnel he dug earlier in the night.

  As Caesar is exiting the tunnel he sees Sam watching him with bewilderment. He misses a step but for him getting the pup required help was of more importance, so he moves towards the front of the house ignoring Sam. Navigating himself in the dark without any difficulty, Caesar sighs with relief as he hands over the injured pup to the medics, but soon lines of annoyingness get etched on his face as he gets ready to be confronted by Sam.
